Our club is dedicated to dinghy (centreboard) sailing. Anybody with a love for the water and boats can start. Age is no barrier - our sailors are between 10 and 75 years old. For your safety you must be able to swim, of course!
There are four ways to start at Paremata:
- Visit us on a Sunday morning at 9 am and come out on an inflatable rescue craft with
us.
You can observe the sailing. We provide the essential safety gear. You need to bring warm clothing and a wind-proof jacket.
- Book a learn-to-sail course with us if you are a junior sailor. We offer block courses
for children from the age of 10 years.
- Contact us if you are an adult without previous sailing experience and want to try
sailing. We can take you sailing for a couple of hours on our yachts on Sunday afternoons
following our regular yacht race. This will give you an idea whether sailing is for
you. The session is FREE.
- Join our club as a member and start to participate in our regular racing programme and club activities. This will suit you if you have sailing experience.

We are now taking enrolments for our Learn to Sail classes for Juniors.
While the course 1 in November 2010 is already booked out, places are still available in course 2 over the Wellington Anniversary weekend in January 2011. But hurry, first in - first served!
