The first weekend in January saw the 2023 p-class nationals take place at Plimmerton Boating club. Ellena Courtnage, our club entrant, took up sailing the 'p' over the winter, a challenging boat to master, as reported by anyone that gets in. On the first days light winds, she struggled, however when the winds finally arrived, Ellena started to take off. Two days of 25kn, gusting much more, Ellena, with a change in boat setup pulled in results of 23rd and 22nd, an epic day. Following a 3hour postponement on the final day, the last race was challenging to say the least, from 39 starts at the begining of the event, only 32 made it to the start line for this one, with only 17 finishing, being on a safety boat, needless to say we were busy. Well done Ellena, you put in a massive effort and represented the club very well.
